Nestled beside the historic 18th Century St Bride’s Church in the heart of Ballintubber, Co Roscommon, St Bride’s National School is a mixed rural Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin. Our school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life of Jesus Christ, while welcoming pupils of other faiths, reflecting the warm welcoming spirit of village life. Here in St Brides, families, staff and the local community work together to support our children to grow, learn and thrive.
We embrace a holistic approach to education, recognising that each child’s well-being, confidence and happiness are just as important as academic success. Every child is known, valued and encouraged to contribute positively to school life and the wider community within a caring and respectful environment.
Our village location, safe outdoor spaces and nearby playground enhance school life, providing many opportunities for active outdoor learning and engagement with Ballintubber’s rich local heritage. St Bride’s NS is more than a school, it is a place where children feel safe, supported and inspired to shine their light every day.
As our school motto states: St Bride’s NS, where kindness lights the way!
